As many of you know, we are lucky to have the Morning Mile program at Lupin Hill. It is a nationwide walking/running program that has been implemented all over the country as a way for kids to start their day with outdoor exercise and fun with friends or parents/teachers. Read more here: http://morningmile.com/
The morning mile starts at 7:30 every day and kids (parents/siblings welcome as well!) run or walk for 20 minutes. Parent volunteers give out one straw per lap and at the end all the straws are tallied. Necklace charms are used as an incentive to keep going and the kids love collecting them. Charms are given out in the classrooms once a week after your child has earned 30 straws. So 30 straws /laps equal one charm.
Another perk of participating in this program is skipping out on traffic for drop-off, that in itself is a reason to participate! We are also lucky enough to have the Medlin family sponsor us with some free frozen yogurt from Peachwave Frozen Yogurt, and our goal is to have fun competitions and prices throughout the school year.
We love to see you come out and participate and we also need parent volunteers! Please let us know if you would be interested in helping out. Email me at malinmckinley77@gmail.com
We can’t wait to see you at the Morning Mile starting September 3rd, 2019!
